There were rumors that a plea bargain was on the way in the Tim Lambesis trial, and turns out the rumors are true.
According to NBC San Diego, Lambesis entered a change of plea and admitted to attempting to hire a hitman to murder his wife. He will be charged with one count of solicitation of another to commit murder and conspiracy to commit a crime, a felony! According to a court clerk, Lambesis will reportedly serve serve the maximum 9 years in prison.
SANFORD, Fla. —The Sanford Police Department has charged Rachel Fryer with homicide in the death of her buried 2-year-old daughter, Tariji Gordon.
Fryer, 32, was also charged with aggravated child abuse, evidence destruction and the mishandling of a dead human body/remains at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. She will make an appearance in front of a Seminole County judge at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cory Strolla wants Judge Russell Healey to delay the sentencing for Dunn's convictions on charges of attempted second-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle until after the retrial on the first-degree murder charge.
SEATTLE -- A woman with multiple felony convictions has been charged with attempted kidnapping after allegedly snatching an 11-month-old baby from a changing table in a Pike Place Market restroom Feb. 17 and refusing to give it back to its mother.
According to the charging documents filed with King County Superior Court, a mother was changing her baby's diaper when she noticed Chelsey Helms, 37, watching her.
Denise Pflum left her parents’ Connersville home on March 26, 1986. She was going to look for her purse that she lost at a house party the night before, the 18-year-old told her mother.
Her car, a 1981 cream-colored Buick Regal, was found later that day at a farm east of Glenwood, a small town about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis. A friend later told detectives that she had seen Pflum that afternoon at the Fashion Bug store at Connersville Plaza, but her mother believes the girl might have been mistaken.
The medical examiner's office has concluded that the cause and manner of Avonte Oquendo's death cannot be determined.

The controversial "stand your ground" provision makes it easier to use lethal force in self-defense by removing the duty of a shooter to retreat and avoid a confrontation.

A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday, accused of sexually abusing multiple children.
William Dillow, 27, of St. Johns County, was arrested at his home on Pacetti Road. Neighbors said they saw a large number of law enforcement officials in tactical gear with assault rifles approach the home around 1:45 p.m.
Mikkia Shardae Lewis, 23, and her boyfriend Joe Genard McCaskell, 33, are each accused of aggravated child abuse and first-degree felony murder. If convicted of first-degree felony murder, they could face the death penalty.
The two are charged in the death of Lewis’ son, Ke’Andre, who investigators said suffered horrible abuse last year at the hands of the pair to the point that one of his nipples was nearly cut off.
The child was found at a home in the Bridgetown subdivision on Roseman Landing around 11 a.m. According to Forsyth officials, the man was supposed to be babysitting the child. Authorities said the toddler's mom came home to find him unconscious. She called 911 and deputies quickly launched a manhunt for her boyfriend.
Starving and sick, covered in cuts and bruises, her hair thinning — the 3-year-old girl, according to doctors, could have died.
Interviews documented by police also allege the Springfield girl had been tied to a chair and thrown down stairs by her mother’s boyfriend. She was at times allegedly kept in a part of the house the other children called the “hole,” locked in a cage.
The man accused of the kidnapping and homicide of a 10-year-old Springfield girl is being held in Greene County Jail alone and under close watch, jail staff said Tuesday.
Major Kevin Spaulding confirmed that Craig Michael Wood is being held apart from the general jail population.
Officials with the Department of Corrections said they will use a lethal dug provided by an unnamed supplier to carry out Michael Taylor's execution. If a court does not issue a stay, Taylor is scheduled to die at 12:01 a.m.

On February 1, 2004, 11-year-old Carlie Brucia was abducted by Joseph Smith on her way home from a friend's house.
The abduction was caught on a surveillance camera from the Evie's Car Wash on Bee Ridge Road. Smith would later rape and kill Brucia, leaving her body in a field behind a church.
A mother and her boyfriend on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to murder and assault on a child, stemming from the death of a 3-year-old girl found in the mother's Napa apartment.
Napa County District Attorney Gary Lieberstein said Sara Kreuger, 23, and her boyfriend, Ryan Scott Warner, 26, entered the pleas in court after being charged in early February with the brutal murder of Kreuger's daughter, Kayleigh Slusher.

Kesse, 24, disappeared from her condominium near Mall at Millenia on January 24, 2006.
“It is so painful to think I can’t protect him and something like going to the gas station could get him killed,” Alston-Toure said. “I’m very afraid for him.”

Barbour had been incarcerated in the county jail since her Dec. 3 arrest on criminal homicide, robbery and other charges in connection with the Nov. 11 slaying of 42-year-old Troy LaFerrara, of Port Trevorton.
Documents released this week by the Florida Department of Children of Families revealed Sanford mother Rachel Fryer had already given up custody of two children prior to the death of her 2-year-old, whom she admitted to burying in Crescent City last week.
Fryer, 32, was charged with aggravated child neglect last week after Sanford Police investigators learned her daughter, 2-year-old Tariji Gordon, died while in her care.
The Missouri Supreme Court this morning scheduled a March 26 execution date for convicted murderer and rapist Jeffrey Ferguson.

A top Springfield school official said if there was any inkling that Craig Michael Wood “could have been a danger” he wouldn’t have been allowed to work with students.
Parker McKenna, chief human resources officer for the district, said the district followed its internal policies as well as the state law — which requires comprehensive background checks followed by annual reviews — in this situation.
It was unclear why the hearing was moved or the new date.
The state removed the 4- and 6-year-old sisters from Perrywinkle in July after 8-year-old Cherish Perrywinkle was abducted June 21 from a Lem Turner Road Walmart, sexually assaulted, strangled and dumped in a wooded area near a church.

DETROIT — Two former housemates of Gerald Dennis Jr. testified in his murder trial Wednesday of heavy drug use in the small house on College Avenue in Lincoln Park.
Dennis, 45, is accused of first-degree murder in the death of his sister, Deborah Seifert, who owned the house. His attorney, James Schlaff, says Dennis has an acute form of schizophrenia. He was found competent to stand trial.
Yesterday, Arapahoe County District Court Judge Carlos Samour ordered a new sanity evaluation for the Aurora theater shooter. In a lengthy (and heavily redacted) ruling, Judge Samour found that the suspect's initial sanity evaluation was inadequate.
The judge also refused to appoint one of the prosecution's experts as the new evaluator. Rather, the judge ordered the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo (one of Colorado's two state mental health hospitals) to appoint a new, independent evaluator.
The Institute has until March 10, 2014 to appoint the evaluator, and the new evaluation report is due to the court in July of 2014.
The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office announced formal murder charges today against 15-year-old Amber Hellesten. The teen is now facing murder, aggravated, and simple assault charges for the alleged stabbing and murder of 14-year-old Azim Chaplin.
Officials say the stabbing on Feb. 11 left Azim clinging to life. He was alive for several days before he died on Sunday. Reports indicate Hellesten allegedly stabbed Azim near the heart with a pocket knife.
SUNBURY — If Miranda Barbour is convicted in the murder of Troy LaFerrara and sentenced to death, Sonny Dean says he will hold the hand of LaFerrara’s widow as his daughter is executed.
Dean on Wednesday also said he believes his daughter may have been involved in one murder other than her alleged participation in the slaying of LaFerrara, the 42-year-old Port Trevorton resident who was fatally stabbed Nov. 11 in Sunbury.

Geron says officers received a tip that they might be able to find the runaway and the sex-assault suspect at a motel in southeast Dallas. And, sure enough, he says, around noon on Wednesday officers saw them walking near a motel. He does not say which one.
