Trial delayed for dad, stepmom of boy in Detroit basement

DETROIT - A trial has been delayed to decide whether the father and stepmother of a 12-year-old Detroit boy found in his basement after an 11-day disappearance will lose custody of their children.

Assistant Attorney General Virginia Trzaskoma says the trial in Wayne County juvenile court was delayed at the request of lawyers for Charlie Bothuell IV and Monique Dillard-Bothuell. It now is set for Jan. 26. The trial had been scheduled to start Monday.
