Stepdad accused of torturing girls held without bail ( Justin Ladd )

A North Andover stepfather accused of torturing his stepdaughters for five years returned to court Tuesday.

 A North Andover man tortured his stepdaughters during a five-year span by hitting them with a hammer, pulling on their tongues with pliers and threatening to have them raped and killed, according to court documents.
