TAMPA (FOX 13) - Tampa police say a Port Richey teen has been charged with four counts of child abuse for faking her child's seizures.

All of the alleged incidents happened inside St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa.

 Violet Hinrichs, 19, is accused of squeezing her 7-month-old baby boy until he turned blue and became unresponsive, police said.

Supreme Court upholds murder conviction of Utah teen

While Cody Lynn Nielsen will continue to serve life in prison without the possibility parole for killing, dismembering and burying a 15-year-old Hyrum girl nearly a decade ago, the Utah Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the man’s aggravating kidnapping conviction be vacated.

 In December, Nielsen’s attorney argued before five Supreme Court justices that six issues warranted a new trial for the man convicted in the grisly murder of Trish Ann Autry.

Todd Stewart, 35, is charged in the 2012 death of Mark Miller. Police say Stewart shot 44-year-old Miller and dumped his body in a 55-gallon barrel that was found along the St. Joseph River.

The FBI has released about 175 pages of heavily blacked-out documents from the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre investigation.

Trial delay request filed in Michael Dunn/Jordan Davis case

The motion for continuance was filed Tuesday afternoon and will be heard Wednesday morning by acting Circuit Judge Russell Healey.

CITRUS COUNTY, FL (WFLA) - Additional charges have been filed against a Citrus man accusing of killing his 1-year-old son last week so he could play video games, the Sheriff's Office says. Two others have also been arrested in connection to the case.

 Cody Wygant, 24, was charged with murder last Thursday in connection to the death of his son Daymeon. Now, Wygant is additionally facing charges of child neglect causing great bodily harm to a 3-month-old female also living in the home.

Judge: Western Iowa Teen Competent for Murder Trial ( Cody Metzker-Madsen ) Dominic Elkins

District Court Judge Judge Kathleen Kilnoski said an evaluation of 18-year-old Cody Metzker-Madsen showed that he understands the charges against him and can actively participate in his defense.

The Council Bluffs Daily Nonpareil reports that Metzker-Madsen is charged with first-degree murder for the death of Dominic Elkins. Authorities say Dominic was killed while the boys were playing outdoors on Aug. 31 at their home near Logan, in western Iowa. Dominic died as a result of blunt-force head injuries and drowning.
