Security guard charged with attempted murder of two ALF residents

BROOKSVILLE -- A part-time security guard at the Atria at Evergreen Woods in Brooksville is accused of trying to kill two residents there.

 Deputies said early Thursday morning, 22-year-old Brian Christopher Murphy, who was not on duty at the time, broke into the building before being spotted by a nurse who alerted security.

 While inside the facility, before being detected, deputies said Murphy entered the rooms of Miriam Lepp, 88, and Joseph Giambrone, 83, and battered each resident with a scissors car jack.
