A judge has denied Josh Young’s request to expunge his record after being acquitted last year of conspiring with his father to violently murder his stepbrother.
Elizabeth McMahon, Young’s public defender, last month asked Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Barry Willett to clear Young’s record of the complicity to murder and complicity to tampering with physical evidence charges he was acquitted of in August.
State law dictates that anyone acquitted of a criminal offense can request to expunge their record of the case, McMahon said in her motion.
