While Katherine Stanfield remained stoic Monday after hearing she was guilty of first-degree murder, her daughter and other family members wept with disbelief.
“This is not right. It can’t be right,” Stacie Duval said as she fought back sobs and squirmed out of the grip of a relative trying to help her from the courtroom.
He said that medical tests found that Wyatt had fresh impact injuries to his forehead, mouth and under the chin, along with evidence of hand marks on his shoulders. There was evidence of older bruising on the boy, consistent with previous abuse, Dinger said.
