This might be the saddest CPS story I have ever told. Considering how many tragedies we've seen over the years with Child Protective Services, that's really saying something.
Za' Naya Flores was a toddler who starved to death on Jan. 12.
Yes, I've written about her before, but stick with me. It's the least you could do for her.

Revenge is nothing; prevention the key.
My heart breaks every time we return a child to their biological family, but this is okay because that’s the way love works when you are a foster parent.
But, if the system is broken, tears turn into terror.
And, how can I talk of my terror while I’m safe, warm & secure.
To experience true terror put your feet in Za’Naya’s cute little booties.
Maybe we all would be ardent on prevention if we experienced her last year of life.
I have to come to a clear conclusion that the system is broken if the best of the best of CPS (SWAT) a month prior to baby Za’Naya’s death recommends that the case should be closed.
