Detroit — D'Andre Lane pleaded with police in December to reunite him with his family as they pressed him to reveal the whereabouts of his missing toddler daughter.
The Detroit father of seven and a Wayne County jury intently watched his hours-long exchange with police in a videotaped interview played in the second week of testimony in his trial on charges of felony murder and child abuse.
Lane is facing mandatory life in prison if convicted on allegations he fatally beat 2-year-old Bianca Jones on Dec. 2 over a bed-wetting incident, fabricated a carjacking and disposed of her body. The child's remains haven't been found.
