Hearing set for Troy man accused in beating death of father

A preliminary examination has been set for Sept. 24 for a 21-year-old Troy man charged with open murder in the beating death of his father. Judge William Bolle set the hearing in 52-4 District Court for Patrick Mikes Jr. during a pre-examination conference today.

 At the preliminary examination, the judge will determine whether there is enough evidence to send Mikes to trial.
