News-Sentinel staff reports
A Fort Wayne man faces a battery charge after he allegedly threw a lamp at his girlfriend's 7-year-old daughter earlier this year, bloodying the girl and landing her in the hospital.
Police responded to Parkview Hospital's north campus, near Dupont and Diebold roads, in April when a worker there reported a battery. Officers learned that the girl's mother had gotten in a heated argument with her boyfriend, Joshua A. Yenna, 30, at her home, and as Yenna left, he allegedly picked up a lamp and threw it, striking the girl in the face, according to court documents.
The girl had to get stitches to repair cuts to her nose, according to the documents. Yenna, of 5118 Stellhorn Road, was arrested on a felony battery charge and was being held on $2,500 bond.
