Family, friends mourn deaths of Detroit cousins found in trunk

Detroit — Two identical floral arrangements stood a few feet from a pair of ivory-colored caskets at New Providence Baptist Church on Thursday, along with roses and carnations arranged to look like two broken hearts.

Friends, family and others filled the west side church to say goodbye to cousins Renisha Victoria Landers, 23, and Demesha Antynett Hunt, 24, two west side women who were found dead earlier this month in the trunk of a car.

In a case that has made national headlines, police say Landers and Hunt are two of at least four murder victims, three of whom are tied to a website offering escort services, police say.
