The body of a 2 ½-year-old girl reported missing from a home along Dixie Beach Road in southwest Jefferson County Monday has been found in Hardin County.
About 7:15 a.m., Louisville Metro Police river patrol officers and the U.S. Coast Guard discovered the body about 300 yards southwest of the Salt River, said Lt. Barry Wilkerson, head of the metro police homicide unit. The Salt River is the border between Jefferson and Hardin counties.
The body was found along the shore at West Point on the Kentucky side of the river about two miles downstream from the house where the missing child lived.
