Without providing details, Ocoee Police said this afternoon they have found a 2-year-old girl who went missing after a scheduled visit with her grandmother in Apopka.
The toddler, Athena Elaine Leon, was returned to the girl's father, according to police. However, police could not provide information on where the girl was found.
The toddler was picked up by her maternal grandmother on Monday, Ocoee police said. But when her paternal grandmother went to pick Athena back up on Friday, the girl was not there. The girl's father has full custody of the child, police said.
Attempts to locate Athena, her mother and her grandmother had been unsuccessful, police said. Authorities said they were concerned for the girl's well-being but they had no reason to believe she has been abducted.
