Man accused in child’s death, sexual assault returns to jail

HOUSTON -- A man accused of killing and sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl is back behind bars.

Emma Thompson died last June after she was hospitalized with dozens of bruises, a skull fracture and signs of sexual abuse.

Emma's mother and her mother's boyfriend were both charged in Emma’s death, but managed to make bond.

Lucas Coe and Abigail Young were back in court Friday where a judge raised Coe's bail to $300,000.

Coe's lawyer says his client can't afford the new bail, and that he'll stay in jail until his trial.
