3:35 p.m. CST, February 26, 2010COLUMBIA, IL (KPLR) - New search warrants were served Friday on the site of the Columbia, Illinois triple murders. It's the home where police say Chris Coleman strangled his wife and kids to be with his mistress. Investigators from the Columbia Police Department searched the former home of Chris Coleman, his wife Sheri and their sons Gavin and Caret. The same home where police found Sheri and their kids strangled in their beds.
News 11 had the only television crew on the scene as investigators entered the home. One carried a camera inside to document evidence. Columbia, Illinois Police Chief Joe Edwards couldn't say much, but did tell us it was their second day of searching.
Detectives could be searching for new clues, or searching for additional details needed for a criminal case.
The chief carried in a ladder and his officers took measurements inside and out.
It's been about nine months since there has been any police activity at the Coleman house.
