We hear about the small children who are missing; the ones like Trenton Duckett, whose disappearances spawn national media coverage
What about the thousands of other kids who are reported missing each year?
Like Ashley Marie Jacobs, who was 14 when she went missing from Ocoee in 2006. Or Katrice Chelsey Beckford, who was 15 years old when she was reported missing last year in Orlando.
More than 46,000 children were reported missing in Florida last year. Some are kids who ran away more than once. But many of them were returned home safely.

There are groups out there and other individuals such as myself who are doing our best to help by posting as many bulletins on myspace as we can... it's quiet now because of the holidays.. people are away and visiting with family but it will be full speed ahead once the holidays are over. Anything posted on myspace in a bulletin is erased within 10 days.. I've tried asking that they make exceptions to the missing bulletins but they never respond.. I myself have sent out over 300 bulletins since Sept when I started and there will be many many more.. between us all maybe we will get all of their faces out there. I also have started posting bulletins of suspects the FBI and AMW is searching for... this is new and I will continue to do that. Maybe catching the bad guys is the first step towards saving many of these children. I don't know but the kids need us and I for one am there for them! Happy New Year friend.
Oh, and as far as Florida goes, it's actually over 70,000 children who go missing at this point. Many are runaways but if the bulletins are read, many of the young teenage girls were last seen with older males. We have an awful problem with sex trafficking (?spell) so I hope nobody ignores bulletins that say the children are runaways... Missing and Exploited Children says they are "Endangered Runaways"... that's actually more than two words to me????
I did forget to mention one thing.. bulletins have been posted of those that have been missing for years. One of the saddest moments for me was when a new Myspace friend informed me that one of the missing who had been missing for a few years did not know her mother had passed while she was missing. I reposted that on myspace and I didn't know what to think. Either both mother and daughter were together again or this poor girl didn't know about her mom. There are so many stories.. some so heartbreaking details are left out. Thanks for listening friend...I needed to get that out. :(

So many are still stuck on the Caylee Anthony case because of the media attention it was/and still is given. I think we should let that go now as she was found and her mom is awaiting trial. So many other moms have done the same to their own kids too. Unfortunately they were not given the same media attention as little Caylee and that is sad. I think a shout out needs to be sent to the media to speak of as many of the missing children instead of what Casey had for dinner or what her mom had to say in her court appearance. I don't hate the Anthony's as I hate nobody. However, enough already...let the media know enough already... tell us about the other missing children.. we don't need a full hour about them.. maybe a few minutes per child. No favoritism..all children are precious. All childrens stories should be told and spoke about on these shows like Nancy Grace. Happy New Year to all!
I couldn't agree with you more whatif... caylee won all our hearts but shes been found and put to rest. its time to get on with her mom trial and put our attention on the other's still out there..all these birthday parties and memorials at this point aren't helping anyone.
I agree that there should be more media coverage of children that aren't home tucked in their beds, but I am also hopeful that the media coverage of Caylee will bring a greater awareness and harsher punishment to the offenders.
that is at least one good thing with the coverage the Anthony case.but I think more coverage of all the kids would benefit in that area too. remind people that Caylee is but one of too many children suffering and dying out there. enough Tiger Woods already, take that hour of media time and show the children, give their backgrounds again and again and again until their faces are as familiar to us as little Caylee's is.
